The Brahminy Kite (Kannada Name - ಬಿಳಿ ಗರುಡ - Bili Garuda) (Haliastur indus) is a medium-sized bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. They are found in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Australia. They are found mainly on the coast and in inland wetlands where they feed on dead fish and other prey.

harriers and
Old World vultures. These birds have powerful hooked beaks for tearing flesh from their prey, strong legs, powerful talons and keen eyesight. There are 43 species which occur in Karnataka and I have found 8 species in Mysuru
